The tour complements the on-campus architecture subjects by providing direct personal experiences of built environments, which is an integral part of architectural education and a major way of learning to understand architecture as well as other related design fields. The goal of this tour is to provide the students with opportunities to experience buildings in their context, meet architectural practitioners, visit other architecture colleges, and engage in other off-campus activities both nationally and internationally.
SVS SOA annually organizes 10 - 15 day guided National and International tours for the students according to their curricular requirements, which presents them with an opportunity to understand basic structural forms, architectural history and cultural significance of the built forms first hand. The study tours are also pre-planned to cover certain aspects of the curriculum through a first hand experience of the region especially for Architectural Design, History or Contemporary Architecture and Vernacular or sustainability techniques.
